Week 6 of 8

Work & Vocation

What am I building?

The experience

You spend the morning at a trade shop — welding, electrical, HVAC. Guys who’ve never held a torch are cutting steel. Guys who do this for a living are teaching. There’s something about watching a man who’s mastered a craft that resets your definition of success.

That afternoon your mentor asks the question nobody ever asked you: “If money and fear were off the table, what would you build?” Not what job would you have. What would you build. It’s different. One is about a paycheck. The other is about purpose.

For the first time, someone helps you think about work as something more than survival. Your 30/60/90-day plan isn’t a corporate exercise — it’s a map. And your mentor helps you find one person to call this week who can open a door.

What am I building?

Most men define themselves by what they do. But when the job disappears, so does the man. This week separates your identity from your occupation and reconnects your work to something deeper — provision, craft, contribution. The question isn’t “what do you do?” It’s “what are you building that matters?”

What you'll do

What guys say about this week

Nobody ever asked me what I wanted to build. They asked what I wanted to be when I grew up. Those are not the same question. That’s the week it clicked for me.

This could be your week one.

Eight men. Eight weeks. One question at a time.
